happy & cast free
The cast is off!!! All went well with the removal, they didn't have to sedate him (thank goodness, I was pretty nervous about that) and the bone is healed. He couldn't walk when they took it off and then had a limp but with each hour it seemed to get better and better. He's pretty much back to normal now, although his foot does turn out a little still and in the morning his leg is a little stiff. If this is still the case in a few days we might have to go back to the doctor.
Needless to say Kash is loving life! As soon as we got home from the doctor's he was begging for a bath and I was very willing to give him one. I don't know if was my prego sniffer but that kid's foot smelled so bad when they took the cast off. Blaine said he couldn't smell anything, whatev. So Kash took the longest bath of his life, we went to the park where he could finally do all the things he loved (climb the ladder, swing, run, etc.) and played with friends.
And good news for me, I don't have to lug our 35 lbs. Kash around anymore!!!
We are so grateful all turned out well! And thank you to all of our friends and family who brought stuff over, text, called and made sure all was well. This last month has been pretty stressful but living in an awesome ward and having great family support really helped!
