day to myself

This Saturday I got a day all to myself full of pampering and shopping!  Last month Blaine and I put a little wager on the NCAA basketball brackets...if Blaine won I would fold my clothes for a month right after the dryer turns off instead of letting them sit there till next Tuesday when Blaine does the laundry again (that never really happens so I'm not sure why Blaine picked this as his prize).  If I won I wanted a day all to myself.  Don't get me wrong, I love my family and crave spending time with Kash, but I just thought it would be nice not to have to run errands around a nap schedule and not have a crying baby determine when it's time to leave a store.

Well I'm sure you guys figured out who won...ME!!!  So sorry sports loving husband.  Not so sorry that I don't have to fold my clothes fresh from the dryer!

Anyway my day off went a little something like this:

a yummy salad from Mad Greens
then it was massage time (sorry for the blurry pic, I was trying to take it quick so no one would bust me for taking a ridiculous picture of myself!)
And then I got my toes did
Followed up by a little shopping, no photos taken since that part of the day was somewhat of a bust.

This was a much needed self care day!  Thanks for losing Blaine, but even more thanks for letting me have a nice day off and watching Kash!  Can't wait for March Madness 2012, I think I might ask for the same thing.

king soopers has faith, do you?

The local grocery store is even jumping on the Nuggets bandwagon. And when King Soopers commits to something they don't mess around...as in predicting the Nuggets to be in the Finals!?! Hilarious! Hopefully the Nuggs will make King Soops proud. Or at least try and win a game at home tonight??

hap-hap-happy birthday!

Poor Blaine doesn't get the blog love he deserves--his birthday was a week ago and I'm just getting around to blogging about it (but don't worry my present makes up for it).

I don't want to speak for Blaine, but since he doesn't blog I suppose I will have to...I think he had a pretty awesome birthday. I managed to take him to TWO playoff Nuggets' games! This was the first time I had been to a playoff game and it was easiliest the most fun I've had all year, with losing my voice and stranger high fives to boot! I think Blaine had a pretty good time too!

sidenote: Yes, I'm cheering for the Nuggs. Only because my beloved Jazz had a short lived playoff life and I've grown to love the Nuggets (how could I not when every single one of their games is watched at my house)!
I love you Blaine! I hope you had a great birthday! Because remember that time I risked my life to go to the shaddy side of town and meet a creepster off of craigslist just for some good Nuggets playoff tickets? :)

speaking of the jazz...

Jerry Sloan and John Stockton were inducted in the basketball hall of fame this week!

Stockton is the reason I love the Utah Jazz and the game of basketball. Watching the Jazz still doesn't feel the same without hearing Stockton to Malone.

I think I will forever be obsessed with John Stockton. In my high school speech class we could pick any person to speak on and of course I chose Stockton. My Chicago Bulls-loving peers laughed through my entire speech. I still carry Stockton's trading card in my wallet in case I ever meet him he can sign it. My freshmen year of college I sat in my dorm room and cried as I watch the last game Stockton would ever play. And my eyes welled up again when I heard he was inducted into the hall of fame.

So to the greatest point great ever, from your number one fan...congratulations Stockton! And congrats to the greatest coach ever, the Jazz will never be the same once you are gone!

"I think Jerry certainly deserves it," Layden said. "There wasn't a doubt in my mind he should be in. If anybody didn't vote for him, they should be investigated."

Jazz vs. Nuggets

Of course my hair fell in my face right as the picture was being taken. But I wasn't about to ask the crabby security guard for a retake!

There once was a boy who was obsessed with the Denver Nuggets. And there was a girl who had an undying love for the Utah Jazz (even at such places as the United Center and Pepsi Center). All though their preferences in basketball were clearly different they defied the odds and got married! But from that day forward their house would be a battle ground anytime the Jazz played the Nuggets.

On Thursday my mom surprised Blaine with an earlier birthday present...two awesome tickets to the Jazz vs. Nuggets game! While the game was super fun, I'm going to stick to watching the Jazz either at home or in Utah. The Nuggets fans were brutal. I mean, I expected it and had tons of fun. But at one point the whole arena started chanting UTAH SUCKS and I had to get up and represent the UT by pointing to my Jazz shirt. Sadly that Jazz didn't even win!!! :(

I guess Blaine and I are even now. A few years ago we went to a Jazz/Nuggs game in Utah and he too was heckled by the fans. (Denver fans were worse though!)

Thanks mom for a great night, and giving Blaine a birthday gift I could enjoy too!
The Nuggets participated in NBA's Green Week 2009 by wearing green jersey's. We thought that was cool.

we're back in the dance, yo!

Apparently I turn ghetto when talking about basketball?!? Awesome.

Utah State plays in the tournament today. For more details on how exciting this is for USU and how in the end the Aggies will probably never get the recognition they deserve check out what Marques has to say.

GO AGGIES (que the Scotsman!)
