utah trip: aunt karen

Next stop on the Utah Express was Karen!  If there's anyone that loves Kash more than us it's probably Karen! haha  It will be sad when she has her own kids and doesn't love mine as much haha

We picked her up from her apartment, but in true Erica/Karen fashion we had to get a few pics first.

Blaine was pretty excited about Karen's love for the Nuggets...lame!
Then we went to Cafe Sabor for dinner.  But we were a little disappointed when we realized they raised the prices, still good food though.  When we came out of the restaurant it was blizzard!  I seriously forgot how much it snows in Logan and how quickly.  I kinda loved it though, it wouldn't be a Logan trip with out a blizzard!  Kash just so happened to love it as well.  He kept trying to grab the snowflakes and giggling!

Bad news is that it delayed the Dewey's flight and they didn't get into Logan till 3am!

Good to see you Karen!  Can't wait for you to be home for the summer!

yuck

One thing I love about living in Denver is the climate.  The winters are never too harsh or cold, when it snows it melts within a day or two, and the summers are never too hot.  Well one thing I learned last year when the Dewey's came to visit us in the "Spring" is that March is the snowiest month in Colorado!  I had told them how nice and warm the weather was and had all these fun outdoor activies planned and then it was the blizzard of '09 their entire trip!

What the freak Colorado! Just as you get spring fever and you are ready to trade your sweaters in for capris here comes the snow.

This fine day in March is no exception.  It snowed 10+ inches last night.  I actually wouldn't mind all of the snow in March, but the fact that I was 99% sure I would have a snow day and didn't is what makes me mad.  I called my work's snowline seven times last night, praying each time that it would say we were closed today.  The best I got was a late start of 10am.  I guess I should be grateful that I got to sleep in...but instead I'm bitter that I'm here at work AND EVERYONE ELSE CALLED IN "SICK"!

And to top it off Blaine leaves for LA on business today and will be gone till Friday.  Mostly I just hate today and I'm a big time crabster!

what the...hot!

Remember the last post where it was snowing and I was sing Christmas carols??? Well those days are over! It's supposed to be close to 80 degrees today! HELLO--I don't live in California nor do I want to! Bring on the cold, the snow and the holidays. It's just not right to sweat in November. Winter months like this must have inspired this song...

just hear those sleigh bells ring-a-ling...

okay so it's a little early for christmas songs, but when i woke up to a winter wonderland that's the first think that popped into my head! and maybe it wasn't a winter wonderland beacuse it's almost melted---BUT IT SNOWED! yea! the first snow of the season!

love the snow.
love winter.
love the cold.
love mittens and cute coats.
love how clean and white everything looks after a fresh snow storm.

i'm so excited for the holidays and for some reason i feel they are official as of today! so go warm up your hot coco, put on your favorite scarf and enjoy your day!
(no this is not the view from my window...quite frankly i'm lucky to make to the shower in the morning I don't have time to be taking beautiful pictures like this! I know i know i'm breaking all the rules of blogging by not being original and taking my own pics, whatev!)
