haunted house

This picture isn't the best quality, it was starting to get dark.  But maybe it is haunted? See the orb??
"Hey Mister is your house scary?"  This is what one of the neighborhood kids asked Blaine tonight as we were getting ready to go on a walk.  Blaine obviously said no, but the kid wasn't buying it.  He told us, "everyone in the neighborhood thinks it's haunted and the girl in 3859 (house across the street) and I looked in the window once and it was scary!!"

It would have been nice to know our house was haunted 4 months ago!!!  I was banking on this house to finally produce some trick-or-treaters, but doubt anyone is going to go to the "creepy" house for some free candy. Great.

I told the kid he should be scared because we were actually witches.  He believed me!  And then after the damage I had done I tried to convince him that it wasn't scary and told him to go look in the window, he refused!  That's how scared this crazy kid was, he said he'd probably see a ghost with a gun! What?  Weirdo!  I finally talked him into looking in the window and on his way up to the house he jumped as a tree branch blew in the wind! hahaha  I couldn't even handle it I laughed right in his face!

He then randomly rode off on his bike mid conversation and I'm sure any neighborhood rumors just got a whole lot worse after this kid's experience tonight.

Luckily we haven't had any hauntings, the only thing scary about this house is how that lawn is looking!  But I do have to say Blaine has been working really hard on it and it's looking a lot better!

craigslist gem

I've been searching craigslist non-stop the past month looking for a new kitchen table.  Our current one isn't exactly filling the new space.
Don't mind the bare walls, this kitchen has a long ways to go!

Well the other day I found this gem...

hahah although it would be hard to eat dinner on this table I'm sure it would provide hours of entertainment for the Turnbow's.  Unfortunately for us I passed.

I never found a table that I liked on craigslist for a reasonable price, but I did stumble on this Ana White website that has tutorials on how to make furniture.  And I even got a commitment from Blaine that he would make this table for me!

Modern Farm Table
mine will be black and with chairs instead of benches
I figure if I post it on the blog he has to do it! I can't even tell you how excited I am about it!!!!  What's even better is that the tutorial says is shouldn't be more than $50.  This style of table usually runs between $200-$500

Napa Dining Table | World Market
World Market $499
I'm sure Blaine will take care of this little project this weekend and I'll post pictures on Monday.

thanks

We are finally in our new house!!! Most of the rooms are put together, well things are put away, it's just not decorated yet. Kash is doing great with the transition. Although he still stands at the wrong side his crib where his old door used to be thinking we are going to come get him from that side! haha But if that's the only issue he has with the move, I'm not complaining! Such a good little boy. :)

Last week all of our family and friends pitched in to help us paint and move, I'm pretty sure we couldn't have done it without them, well maybe we could have but it would have sucked and we would still be painting! The Turnbow's never cease to amaze me with their willingness to help us out. Especially Blaine's parents. They always go above and beyond for us, it overwhelms me to think about how much they do for us and how much they love us!

So anyway, thanks to all of those who watched Kash, cleaned our apartment, painted, fixed things and moved my underwear drawer this last week. We are truly blessed with great family and friends!

Kash loves our new house!

I'll post more "after" pictures once there's an actual after.
